Liverpool defender Nat Phillips left Liverpool for West Bromwich Albion on June 23 for £3million, and will take fond memories of LFC with him on his new venture.

The 28-year-old signed for the club in 2016 from Bolton Wanderers, and worked his way up from the Liverpool Under-23s squad into the starting lineup.

Phillips played 29 games for the Reds at a senior level, along with having loan spells at VfB Stuttgart, Bournemouth, Celtic, Cardiff and Derby before West Bromwich approached to buy him this summer.

The Englishman scored one goal and notched one assist for Liverpool, both in the 2020/21 season.

Taking to Instagram, Phillips left a very warm and heartfelt message, saying that his time with the Reds was nothing short of amazing.

He said: "Thank you for all the memories, love and support. This club has been a huge part of my life, and I’ll always be grateful for the opportunities it’s given me and the people on and off the pitch who I have been fortunate to meet along the way.

"It’s been an absolute honour to represent Liverpool and one that I will be forever proud of. Lastly, a special thank you to the fans, whose support I have felt continuously. I wish the club and all involved the very best of luck for the future. YNWA"

Phillips will be expected to play for his new club West Brom for the first time as they face Blackpool Football Club at Bloomfield Road on July 19.

Meanwhile, Dominic Corness has signed for The New Saints after departing Liverpool after the expiration of his contract.

“I’m absolutely delighted to have signed for The New Saints. It’s a fantastic club with a great history of success, and I’m really proud to be joining," he said.

“From the moment I heard about the opportunity, I knew it was the right move for me. I can’t wait to meet the lads, get started with training, and do everything I can to help the team achieve its goals this season.”
