Man United Star Set To Re-Unite With Cristiano Ronaldo And Move To Al-Nassr

Man United midfielder Casemiro is reportedly close to joining Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr and joining Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Red Devils are undergoing somewhat of a rebuild this summer, and the midfield is one of the areas that Ruben Amorim is set to improve. The future of Kobbie Mainoo is uncertain, and Christian Eriksen will leave the club as a free agent.

Another uncertain Man United player is midfielder Casemiro, who is now 33 years old. Last season, he struggled to find consistent form, making 42 appearances. He scored five goals and provided just three assists.

The Red Devils could decide to cash in on Casemiro this summer, with his contract due to expire next June, when he would leave as a free agent, so that they can get some form of return for him.

According to a report by Sport Jaziah via SportBIBLE, Casemiro is close to agreeing a move to Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr, which is the same club that Cristiano Ronaldo plays for. The two played together during their time with Real Madrid.

The report says: “The AlNassr club is close to signing the Brazilian player Casemiro, the Manchester United midfielder, during the upcoming summer transfer period, and sources indicate that negotiations are at an advanced stage.”

The Brazilian midfielder is estimated to be worth around £8.5m; it is not understood yet whether any deal between Man United and Al Nassr would include a transfer fee.

Who could Man United replace Casemiro with?

If they are to sign Casemiro, the Red Devils will want to find a replacement for the 33-year-old. Recent reports have suggested that Man United want to sign Palmeiras midfielder Richard Rios, who has also been linked with Nottingham Forest and Tottenham Hotspur.

The 25-year-old has an £85m release clause in his contract with the Brazilian club, and is a physical midfielder who would help protect Man United’s defence, something that they could have done with last season.

He is a younger, more defensive version of Casemiro, and would make an excellent addition for the Red Devils and Ruben Amorim.
