Enzo Maresca has already hinted that he will be making multiple changes to the starting lineup tonight, rotating his squad to give minutes to those players who haven’t played much thus far in the tournament. Our starting lineups against both LAFC and Flamengo featured largely first-choice players.
For the WAGNH Community on the other hand, this is no time for rotation. A place in the Round of 16 is on the line, and therefore the people’s choice features mostly familiar starters once again.
One exception is young Andrey Santos, who has (surprisingly) gotten a grand total of zero minutes so far but is the third-leading vote-getter behind Liam Delap and Marc Cucurella. Cucurella was one of those who (unsurprisingly) looked quite tired on Friday. Tosin Adarabioyo also comes back in, with Trevoh Chalobah (44%) dropping out.
There were a couple close calls, with Moisés Caicedo just edging out Enzo Fernández (51%) to partner Santos in midfield, and Robert Sánchez winning the three-horse race at goalkeeper by a couple percentage points, ahead of Filip Jörgensen (37%) and Mike Penders (22%).
**4-2-3-1 (75%)**
Sánchez (40%) | Cucurella (78%), Colwill (68%), Tosin (59%), James (59%) | Santos (72%), Caicedo (54%) | Madueke (53%), Palmer (71%), Neto (71%) | Delap (94%)
Roméo Lavia (44%) also came close, while youngsters Tyrique George (36%) and Josh Acheampong (33%) had their best showings yet.
