Marcus Rashford has been given brutal reality check but it comes at terrible timing for Man United

Marcus Rashford finds himself at a career crossroads with his Manchester United future uncertain.

When Marcus Rashford scored the first goal under Ruben Amorim back in November, it seemed the Manchester United academy graduate would have a bright future under the Portuguese coach.

However, Amorim heavily criticised Rashford’s attitude in training and eventually froze him out of the squad.

Rashford’s attitude became a concern at Carrington, and it became clear that he would leave the club in January.

However, Aston Villa refused to buy Rashford for £40m following his loan spell, and now the next step of his career has not gone to plan.

Barcelona are giving Marcus Rashford a brutal reality check

Since it became clear that Rashford wasn’t going to Villa, he has put all of his effort in trying to forge a move to Barcelona.

Barcelona is Rashford’s ‘dream’ move, and he has been putting all of his effort into trying to forge a move to the Spanish giants.

However, Barcelona’s transfer activity suggests he isn’t anywhere close to being one of their top targets.

Barcelona are showing interest in Nico Williams having already been turned away from Luis Diaz at Liverpool.

In his latest effort to drum up transfer interest in Spain, Rashford spoke about playing with Lamine Yamal, but so far it seems his interest is one-sided.

In 2022, Rashford was tipped to become “one of the world’s best”, but now he finds himself desperately trying to attract a buyer. So far, he is failing.

Ineos need Marcus Rashford to accept Barcelona defeat

With United’s pre-season training beginning on July 7th, there are just days remaining until Rashford is set for an awkward return to Carrington.

However, reports suggest Amorim will cut Rashford from the tour squad in his latest message to Ineos to sell the forward this summer.

But selling players has proven difficult this summer and Rashford’s £325,000 per week wages only make it harder for Ineos to find suitable buyers – especially when Rashford only has his sights set on Barcelona.

It is best for United and Rashford to part ways this summer, but his insistence on joining Barcelona is only dragging out an unnecessary transfer saga.

Rashford has threatened to join United’s U21s if a move to Barcelona doesn’t go through, but it is his career on the line.
