Over the weekend, Micah Parsons attended Fanatics Fest in New York, which means he had a lot of microphones and cameras in his face. Considering his ongoing contract situation with the Dallas Cowboys, that’s not necessarily a good thing for the franchise. Sure enough, Parsons said something that has everyone talking, and questioning his future in Dallas.
After news broke that NBA superstar Kevin Durant was being traded from the Phoenix Suns to the Houston Rockets, while Durant was at Fanatics Fest, he immediately had to answer questions about the next chapter of his career. While speaking with Kay Adams about the upcoming chapter, Adams decided to bring in Parsons to join their interview.
Adams asked Durant, a D.C. native and notorious Washington Commanders fan, if he wanted be a part of another blockbuster move and recruit Parsons to Washington. The NBA superstar made the bold prediction that Parsons will join the Commanders in the next two years. With all eyes on the star defender after that statement, all Parsons had to say was, “I only rock with Dan Quinn,” who is Washington’s head coach.
Durant quickly added that Quinn is the only person he needs to rock with, and the clip immediately took off.
Cowboys' Micah Parsons says he rocks with Dan Quinn after Kevin Durant recruits him to Commanders
Kevin Durant says Micah Parsons will be a Washington Commander at some point in his career.
Kay Adams: "When?"
Durant: "I will say two years from now."
Parsons: "Yo, I only rock with Dan Quinn."
Durant: "Exactly. That's all ya need to rock with!"

While Parsons has previously expressed his commitment to Dallas, he certainly didn’t do so in this moment, instead deciding to highlight his relationship with the head coach of a division rival.
Quinn is the former defensive coordinator of the Cowboys. The two had a really tight relationship, so it’s no surprise Parsons is fond of him, but this isn’t exactly what fans want to hear as the defender enters the final season of his contract.
While Dallas may not have an extension done yet, it’s safe to say the team isn’t letting Parsons go anywhere anytime soon. While a long-term deal remains everyone’s priority, the Cowboys would surely franchise tag the defender before letting him leave in free agency.
If worst comes to worst, and Parsons is for some reason traded, Dallas won’t move him within the division. In other words, Kevin Durant needs to find a new target for his hometown team.
