Aston Villa are continuing their pursuit of Lille keeper Lucas Chevalier.
The Frenchman has emerged as a target for the Villans as a potential new number one option ahead of the upcoming campaign.
With Emi Martinez potentially on his way to Manchester United, the need for a positive replacement is certainly going to be necessary in B6.
Now, Unai Emery’s side have learned how much they will have to fork out to Lille to land Chevalier if the Argentine is to depart this summer.

It is certainly going to be an uphill battle moving into the new season without the two-time Yashin Trophy winner in between the sticks.
With that being said, the 32-year-old’s absence could be negated by the introduction of a younger option who is already performing at the top level.

This is the case for Chevalier, who has been a regular in Ligue 1 for three seasons, despite being just 23, representing a young option compared to most other keepers.

As a result, it is little surprise that PSG are interested in the Frenchman with the Lille man representing their priority if Gianluigi Donnarumma were to depart.
If the Italy international is to stick around the Parc Des Princes, the Villans could pounce on the keeper this summer.
Villa News can now reveal that Lille will demand upwards of £51million for Chevalier, who dreams of playing in the Premier League.
With two years remaining on the contract of the Calais-born shot stopper, the four-time Ligue 1 champions can hold out for a sizable fee.

Chevalier could join Aston Villa for £51m+
If PSG are keen on signing the Frenchman, there is no doubt about his quality, something which could make him a true asset in B6.
If Martinez is going to move on from Aston Villa, a long-term alternative is needed, especially after so many years of uncertainty in goal.
The ex-Arsenal man came in to end a reign of Orjan Nyland and Pepe Reina, which so nearly ended with relegation from the Premier League.
This just adds fuel to the fire of how difficult the World Cup winner will be to replace, although Chevalier could prove to be a perfect option.
With such a high level of experience at a young age for a keeper, even at £51m, there won’t be many better options out there for Monchi and Co.
