Report: Wizards still exploring a trade to move into Top 5 of Draft

The Washington Wizards, barring a blockbuster trade, will pick No. 6 (and later No. 18 and 40) in the 2025 NBA Draft. The first round is tomorrow, and the second round on Thursday.

What are the rumors regarding the Wizards and their draft strategy?

So far, from a draft pick only standpoint, the Wizards have reportedly tried to move up from the No. 6 pick to as high as No. 2. That isn’t entirely surprising considering that the Wizards were the second worst team in the league. But the Wizards also experienced the worst case scenario with the lottery results.

And there is something more to the Wizards’ efforts to move up in the 2025 NBA Draft. Washington is reporedly to be interested in moving up to the No. 5 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft by making a move with the Utah Jazz which was initially reported by Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints but appear to be gaining steam by other reporters including Troy Halliburton. This is because the Wizards are reportedly interested in drafting Jeremiah Fears as well as the Jazz, and something has to give, right?
