Nottingham Forest winger Anthony Elanga is the subject of widespread interest this summer transfer window.
Anthony Elanga was linked with a return to Manchester United last month, but those rumours have since gone quiet.
It’s Newcastle United who are pushing to sign Elanga at the moment, having held a long-standing interest in the Nottingham Forest winger.
It has been reported that fellow wide player Harvey Barnes could be included in the deal on top of a significant cash offer.
However, there has now been a fresh attempt from the Magpies to land Anthony Elanga’s signature, as a £45m bid has been lodged.

How Nottingham Forest have reacted to Newcastle United’s bid for Anthony Elanga
Newcastle United were trying to sign Elanga last summer, and it seems Eddie Howe isn’t giving up in his attempts to bring him to St James’ Park.
According to the Athletic’s David Ornstein, Newcastle have lodged a £45m bid for the Sweden international, however, it has already been rejected by Forest chiefs.
MORE FOREST STORIES
The East Midlanders have made it clear that Elanga is not for sale, so they haven’t even quoted his valuation to Newcastle.
Ornstein understands that Howe is now torn between making a second attempt or focusing on other targets.
Newcastle already looking at other options
Newcastle are looking at West Ham United’s Mohamed Kudus as an alternative to Elanga, although, there is competition from Tottenham Hotspur.
Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo is also a consideration, with the Cherries demanding around £70m for their talisman.
From a Forest perspective, Evangelos Marinakis is desperate to retain his best players, having made clear his ambitions to return the club to Europe next season.
Marinakis is ready to hand Nuno Espirito Santo a substantial budget once the financial year elapses at the end of this month.
