Everton look set to reignite their pursuit of Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi this summer.
Ndidi first attracted interest from the Toffees back in early 2024, and now they are once again looking to bring the midfielder to Merseyside, with David Moyes keen to continue the upward trajectory that was established at the end of last season.
Everton almost had the opportunity to sign Ndidi as a free agent during last summer’s transfer window, only for the Nigerian to extend his stay at Leicester by signing a new three-year deal.
However, this time around, it seems as though they have renewed hope of getting their man.

Everton eye £9m Ndidi ‘bargain’
Moyes is expected to be well-backed by The Friedkin Group this summer, but that doesn’t mean the Merseyside club should be extravagant with their spending where it is perhaps not necessary.
MORE TOFFEES STORIES
In Ndidi, they may have just found a man who could be a fantastic addition to their ranks, for a relatively insignificant outlay by Premier League standards.
Leicester’s relegation to the Championship is understood to have triggered a £9million release clause in the midfielder’s contract, which could see him potentially become available for a bargain fee, according to talkSPORT (24 June).
The Toffees are understood to be facing competition from Manchester United for the 28-year-old’s signature, and there is also potential interest from Saudi Arabia.

Ndidi would be a great addition for Everton
Abdoulaye Doucoure’s departure leaves a sizeable gap in the midfield that will need to be filled before the upcoming campaign gets underway, and Ndidi could be the perfect man to step into his shoes.
The 54-cap international has become a reliable, consistent performer during his eight-year stint with the Foxes, and links with some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs have been a consistent occurrence across the majority of that spell.

Wilfred Ndidi’s career stats
There can be no doubt about the fact that he is far too good for the Championship, and with his release clause potentially facilitating a move for as little as £9m, it is surely inevitable that he will be moving elsewhere this summer.
Everton must be doing everything they can to ensure it is them that Ndidi joins. He possesses the kind of energy and dynamism that could see him become Moyes‘ ideal replacement for Doucoure, and on his day, he is capable of totally controlling games.
When you then factor in the price that he is available for, it should be a no-brainer for TFG and Moyes to push for a deal.
