Manchester United’s summer rebuild continues under Ineos, with transfer activity picking up and several key decisions looming over who stays and who goes.
While Matheus Cunha has already arrived and talks with Brentford for Bryan Mbeumo are progressing, the need to offload players remains a pressing issue.
United’s attack, once built around youth and potential, now faces major reshuffling — especially with underperformers like Antony, Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford all up for sale.

But while United assess their options, one player who was once seen as the club’s long-term striker is quietly slipping behind his peers in Europe.
Rasmus Hojlund arrived last summer for £64 million, billed as the future of United’s frontline.
But just a year later, his stock has dipped — and rivals are beginning to pull away.
Darwin Nunez, criticised for inconsistency at Liverpool early on, has now overtaken Hojlund in both form and reputation.
After a strong finish to the season under Arne Slot, the Uruguayan is firmly part of Liverpool’s plans — while Hojlund’s future at Old Trafford looks far less certain.

The Danish striker managed a frustrating 2024/25 campaign, and his market value has dropped to just £30 million — less than half of what United paid Atalanta for him.
Now, according to CaughtOffside, Darwin Nunez may now have overtaken Hojlund as the priority if a deal can be struck with the Premier League champions.
However, Conte sees untapped potential in Hojlund and wants to replicate the success he had with Scott McTominay, who became a key figure in Napoli’s Serie A-winning midfield.
Hojlund is said to be “excited” about the opportunity to work with Conte and revive his form in Italy.
And with United still exploring options for a new centre-forward, selling him could unlock funds to chase more proven targets.
United may be reluctant to give up on Hojlund so soon, but as Nunez flourishes and the pressure mounts, it’s clear the Dane has fallen behind in the race among top young strikers.
