Pro Bowler, Super Bowl champ, Super Bowl MVP and aspiring children’s author? Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts announced Monday that he is releasing a new kids’ book:
Titled “Better Than a Touchdown,” Hurts’ children’s novel is described as an “empowering story about friendship, the power of teamwork, and achieving goals together” that follows protagonist Jalen and his friends’ journey to save the day after their school’s football team has been cut.
According to the about page, the book is a “love letter to the power of community, being there for one another, and how a piece of good advice can change the course of a day.”

Fans reacted to Hurts’ latest venture on X.
“What can’t this man do? 🤣” a user asked.
“We are very lucky to have such a good person at QB leading by example for the young ones,” another said.
“Pretty cool,” Ian Rapoport replied.
“I’m trying really hard to not like a Philly eagles QB…… since I’m a cowboy fan…. But the guy seems so dang likeable haha,” a Dallas native laughed.
“Want one signed by Hurts,” an Eagles fan said.
“This is dope,” another person commented.
“The Jalen Hurts haters going to be upset.”
“Had to give AJ brown more material for the sidelines. Good team move,” another user joked.
“Thats my QB1 Jalen Hurts!!” Renee Washington exclaimed.

It’s pretty school to see Hurts use his platform in this way — following in the footsteps of several other high-profile athletes in recent years; including Simone Biles and Venus and Serena Williams.
We’ll see if this one makes it onto A.J. Brown’s reading list when it releases next March. The book can be pre-ordered at Barnes & Noble, Walmart, Target and others.
