If there’s one thing that a Leeds United player, or a future Leeds United player doesn’t want, it’s old comments about Manchester United resurfacing.
Unfortunately for Nikola Krstović[, we here at Sport Witness have long memories](https://sportwitness.co.uk/my-dream-is-manchester-united-striker-makes-it-clear-he-wants-transfer-to-red-devils/) and won’t let him off that easy.
For those that don’t know, Leeds are closing in on a deal for the Lecce striker, with the 25-year-old believed to be towards the top of their transfer wish list.
A deal for him has been progressing for a fortnight and [a report today stated that Leeds have an agreement in principle](https://sportwitness.co.uk/agreement-in-principle-to-sell-player-to-leeds-united-whites-now-building-personal-terms-temptation/) in place with Lecce on a €23m deal. Earlier claims had them wanting at least €35m.
Daniel Farke’s side are now working to convince Krstović on the move, with an offer already made but it felt more may be needed to convince him of the move to Elland Road. He doesn’t seem all that keen at present, and perhaps Manchester United have something to do with that.
You see, back in September, we covered comments from the Lecce striker in which he went public with his desire to play for Leeds’ firm rivals, Manchester United.
_“After the match against Torino he (Mirko Vucinic) told me ‘think about the next one’. Where would I never play? In Bari. My dream is Manchester United,”_ he admitted.
_“It’s only the second year here in Lecce. I am very happy, both me and my family. We have friends and we’re enjoying it, so let’s think about the present.”_
Now it seems the striker has a decision to make, with Leeds at the window but yet to fully convince him, perhaps because of that old Manchester United dream.
