Tottenham Hotspur and Man United have been locked in a battle for Bryan Mbeumo’s services over the last few weeks, and according to a new update from Sky Sports, one side is now clearly emerging as the Brentford star’s likely destination this summer.
The speculation linking the Cameroon international with a move to Tottenham Hotspur has been non-stop since Thomas Frank walked through the door.
We have heard some contradictory updates about the 25-year-old over the last week, with some sources installing Man United as the favourites for Mbeumo, while others have insisted that Frank could lure Mbeumo to Spurs.
Various outlets have claimed that Tottenham are willing to offer a bigger transfer fee and a better salary than Man United for Mbeumo.

Tottenham or Manchester United: Where is Bryan Mbeumo headed?
Spurs fans would have hoped that the Frank factor and the offer of Champions League football may give them an advantage over the Red Devils in the race for the Bees star.
However, Sky journalist Mark McAdam has now revealed that even though Spurs are pushing to land the forward, the player now looks to be on his way to Old Trafford.
When asked about Mbeumo’s future, McAdam said on Sky Sports News: “At the moment, it feels like he’s headed to Old Trafford. We know that there were a number of sides that were interested in Bryan Mbeumo.

“His contract is running down, hence why Manchester United are seeing this as an opportunity. We know there’s interest from Tottenham as well, but it looks like he’s heading to Old Trafford. They’re just preparing a second offer which they hope will get Mbeumo.”
Man United have now submitted that second offer for Bryan Mbeumo. Fabrizio Romano claims that the second bid from the Red Devils amounts to more than £60m. Talks are ongoing between Man United and Brentford, while Mbeumo himself is still giving priority to Ruben Amorim’s side over Spurs.
Spurs have already identified alternatives to Mbeumo
It appears that Spurs may have anticipated missing out on the Brentford man as several outlets have claimed over recent days that the club had identified a backup option for the Cameroonian.
Tottenham have allegedly zeroed in on Antonine Semenyo as their top alternative to Mbeumo, with the Lilywhites said to be big fans of the Bournemouth star.
According to some sources, Spurs are growing in confidence about securing a deal for Semenyo, with the Cherries thought to value the winger at £60m.
Additionally, various outlets have also claimed over recent days that Thomas Frank has approved the signing of Eberechi Eze at Tottenham, although it is unclear if the England international is viewed as an alternative to Mbeumo.
