Arsenal are interested in Brentford’s Christian Norgaard as a potential replacement for Thomas Partey this summer, according to a report.

Arsenal are set for a bit of a defensive midfield shake up this summer, with Jorginho already having left and Martin Zubimendi on the verge of joining.
And with reports that Thomas Partey still hasn’t agreed a new contract with the Gunners, the club could yet look to make another signing in the position.
Sam Tabuteau reports for The Standard that Arsenal are interested in signing Brentford’s Christian Norgaard, though the Gunners face competition from Thomas Frank and Tottenham Hotspur.

Tabuteau writes that Arsenal may need midfield reinforcements even with Zubimendi’s imminent arrival, but only if they fail to agree a new contract with Partey. As it stands, the Ghana international’s deal expires next Monday.
Mikel Arteta would reportedly view Norgaard as someone capable of replacing Jorginho’s leadership skills, even if the Brentford captain is only joining in a supporting role.
But the presence of Norgaard’s former manager Frank at Spurs obviously helps their case.

31-year-old Norgaard has a deal with Brentford until 2027, and he made 35 appearances for the team in 2024/25, scoring six goals and assisting four.
Arsenal’s apparent interest is only likely to progress if and when Partey’s contract situation is resolved, but with any luck that won’t be long now.
