Arne Slot has had an impressive impact on Liverpool during the short amount of time he’s been the head coach of the club.
Nobody expected Liverpool to end the 2024-25 campaign as Premier League champions, but somehow, the Dutchman managed to deliver that.
Slot didn’t even bring in four or five players to help bolster his ranks, as only Federico Chiesa was added to his squad, and he was hardly given any playing time.
This summer, however, things are completely different as the Reds have already splashed around £145million on two players in Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz.
And, with Liverpool’s spending not likely to stop there, it’s clear that some players will have to be sold on to try and earn the Anfield outfit some of their money back.
Caoimhin Kelleher and Nat Phillips have already been given their marching orders, and with the sale of Jarell Quansah also close to completion, it’s clear that major changes are on the way.

However, there’s one Liverpool man who’s been linked with a departure that shouldn’t be anywhere near the exit doors.
Stefan Bajcetic cannot be sold by Liverpool this season
Stefan Bajcetic may be a player that some Liverpool fans have forgotten about.
MORE LIVERPOOL STORIES
The Spaniard burst onto the scene under Jurgen Klopp, but after sustaining a few injuries which kept him out for most of the season, the defensive midfielder was sent out on loan.
He’s tried his luck with both RB Salzburg and Las Palmas this season, and while his stint in Austria didn’t go to plan, he thrived at Las Palmas with fans even describing him as “exceptional.”
Which is why it comes as a bit of a surprise to see The Athletic reporting that the midfielder is ‘attracting interest’ from other clubs.
Indeed, this could just mean for another season-long loan, but with Wataru Endo not getting any younger and likely to be used as a centre-back more often this season, the Reds need a backup defensive midfielder.

Why Stefan Bajcetic would be a perfect back-up to Ryan Gravenberch next season
There’s no denying that Ryan Gravenberch proved himself to be one of the best holding midfielders in the Premier League last season.
And, even though he played most games, every player needs a rest, and when Endo was called upon, while he was solid enough and did a job, he’s likely to depart over the next couple of years.
Bajcetic, on the other hand, is still just 20 years old, and if the form he showed while playing for Klopp was anything to go off of, he’s got more than enough talent to be a first-team player for Liverpool in the future.
Indeed, times have been tough for the young Spaniard recently, but with a bit of coaching from Slot and the odd few minutes here and there, he could become an invaluable part of Liverpool’s first-team squad.
Of course, only time will tell what’s going to happen, but at the moment, it feels like it would be a massive mistake on Liverpool’s part to allow him to exit Anfield this summer.
