Arsenal have reportedly made a surprise enquiry over the potential signing of Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho, according toCaughtOffside. The 25-year-old England international is facing an uncertain future at Old Trafford following a season-long loan at Chelsea, and interest in his services is heating up across Europe.

Sancho returned to Manchester United this summer after an up-and-down loan spell at Stamford Bridge, where he scored five goals and registered 10 assists in 42 appearances. Despite his mixed form, he has drawn interest from the likes of Fenerbahce, Napoli, and former club Borussia Dortmund.

The report claims that Arsenal are among the clubs to have contacted United about Sancho’s availability. While the Gunners have yet to follow up with formal negotiations, their initial approach signals a potential shift in transfer strategy as manager Mikel Arteta seeks to reinforce his attacking options ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Sancho’s name may raise eyebrows among Arsenal fans, given his inconsistency in the Premier League since his £73 million move to Manchester United in 2021. After impressing at Borussia Dortmund where he made 137 appearances and won both the DFB-Pokal and DFL-Supercup, his return to England has been turbulent. A high-profile fallout with Erik ten Hag in 2023 saw him loaned back to Dortmund, where he played a key role in their run to the UEFA Champions League final, before joining Chelsea for the 2024/25 season.

Although Arsenal passed up the chance to sign Sancho last year largely due to concerns over his £250,000-a-week wages and inconsistency, the club now appear to be reassessing their stance. While not considered a priority target, Sancho’s versatility and attacking flair are said to align with the kind of profiles Arteta wants to add to his squad.

Meanwhile, Fenerbahce, now managed by Jose Mourinho, have reportedly tabled a substantial offer, including a lucrative contract that Sancho is said to be seriously considering. Manchester United, now under new manager Ruben Amorim, are open to letting the winger leave, with a permanent transfer viewed as the preferred outcome.

Arsenal remain linked with other high-profile forwards this summer, including Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres and Real Madrid’s Rodrygo, suggesting a busy window lies ahead as the Gunners prepare to challenge for major honours in the new season.
