Arsenal’s quest to bolster their attacking line has taken a dramatic turn today, with Sporting Lisbon’s prolific striker Viktor Gyokeres at the center of intense transfer speculation.
Reports indicate that the Gunners are preparing a fresh bid for the Swedish international, who has made it clear he wants to join Mikel Arteta’s side at the Emirates Stadium.

Gyokeres, who scored an impressive 54 goals in 52 appearances last season, has a €100m release clause, but there’s speculation that Sporting might accept a lower fee, possibly around £65m-£70m.
The 27-year-old has reportedly informed Sporting’s president, Frederico Varandas, that he has no intention of returning to the club for pre-season training, signaling his determination to secure a move to Arsenal.
Arteta is keen to finalise the deal before Arsenal’s pre-season tour of Asia begins on July 23, with the Gunners aiming to integrate Gyokeres into the squad for their match against AC Milan.

Gyokeres’ preference for Arsenal over other suitors, including Manchester United and Juventus, has given the club a significant boost in negotiations. While Arsenal continue to monitor RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, Gyokeres’ proven goal-scoring prowess makes him a prime target.
