Wayne Rooney has kept a low profile since leaving Plymouth Argyle at the end of last year following a difficult stint in the Championship.
His struggles at club level have led many to wonder what the former England captain’s next move might be in football.
Now, Rooney has taken up a new role in Dubai.
As per Manchester Evening News’ report, Rooney will be working alongside ex-England teammate Michael Dawson as part of the Football Escapes programme.

Despite setbacks at Derby, DC United, Birmingham, and Plymouth, Rooney remains hopeful of a managerial comeback in the future.
“I would like to go back in [to management], but it would have to be the right club,” he told Stick to Football.
“You always have that confidence you could get the best out of a bad or difficult situation.”
Looking ahead, the Manchester United legend hasn’t given up on his ultimate ambition: “Manchester United or Everton is the aim,” he told Match of the Day.
“It’s a process… I want to make sure in the next 10 years I’m in a position to go into one of the big jobs.”
