Bristol City’s New Head Coach: Charlotte Healy

Bristol City have announced Charlotte Healy as their new head coach, joining the club from Manchester United, where she spent the past six years. During her time there, Healy progressed from Academy Head Coach to First Team Assistant Coach. The club praised not only her wealth of experience but also her proven ability to develop young players. She takes over from Steve Kirby, who stepped down last month.

“Providing opportunities for young players is really important, it’s something I value and love doing. I love seeing players progress into the first team and I’m excited to be able to provide that opportunity to players in our pathway.

“I’m high challenge, I want us to win, I want us to be successful but if you came into my environment, I hope you’d see it is really high support as well. I can’t wait to play in front of our fans, and they’ll be a huge part of what we do”

Healy first joined Manchester United in 2019 as an Under-21 coach. In recent years, she worked as Assistant Coach to Marc Skinner, contributing to several major team achievements:

* Winning the Women’s FA Cup at Wembley in 2024

* Securing a top-three finish in the Women’s Super League in the [2024/25](https://womenfootball.blog/womens-super-league-table-standings/) season

“To every player and staff member I’ve had the privilege to work alongside – thank you. Your dedication, passion, and professionalism has inspired and motivated me every single day. I’ve been fortunate to work with some of the best players in the world and some of the most talented practitioners in the game.

“Over the past six years, I’ve seen the women’s first team achieve historic milestones – rising from the Women’s Championship to securing Champions League qualification. During my three seasons with the first team, reaching three consecutive FA Cup finals has been so special.

“This group of women have exemplified what hard work, courage, and relentless drive can achieve.

“I am so proud of what we’ve accomplished together. Being part of this journey has been one of the greatest privileges of my life and has brought me some of my most cherished memories.”
