Aaron Rodgers is back for his 21st season in the NFL, and he will presumably be leading the Pittsburgh Steelers during the 2025 season. However, the future Hall of Famer has confirmed that he plans to walk away following this season.
Rodgers joined "The Pat McAfee Show" to talk about his time with the Steelers thus far, and he dropped the bomb that he plans to play one final season with Pittsburgh.
"I'm pretty sure this is my last season and that's why we did the one-year deal ... I've played twenty years and I've enjoyed it ...There's no better way to finish it than with Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers."

There was a big belief that Rodgers was close to hanging up the cleats before the 2024 season. After suffering a torn Achilles in the first offensive series of the 2023 season with the New York Jets, his age and longevity became a big talking point.
Rodgers shut down those rumors by even discussing returning to play in the 2023 season if the Jets were able to make it to the playoffs. That was not the case, and the famed signal caller decided to heal instead.
Rodger returned for the 2024 season after much controversy regarding his offseason activities that were detailed in the Netflix series, "Enigma," which followed the quarterback through a journey of self-discovery.
Despite not being around for minicamp, Rodgers showed up to lead the Jets. Sadly, the team would only produce a 5-12 record, leading to Robert Saleh being fired in Week 5, and the team not rebounding under interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich.
Rodgers still managed to produce 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions under a shaky offensive line and a team that simply did not click.
Now, Rodgers is spending what is presumably his final season under Mike Tomlin and will be throwing the ball to star receiver DK Metcalf. Rodgers talked at length about his excitement about his final season being with Coach Tomlin on the McAfree program, and also added some surprising tidbits on being a mentor to Will Howard.
Considering Rodgers also confirmed this will be his final season, it makes sense that his tune has changed on being a mentor, and that he wants to instead help Howard become a solid NFL quarterback.
