As reported previously, the club are very much in the process of looking to offload current senior players within the squad, which will then fund a rebuild to shape the plans Graham Potter has for his West Ham side next season.

One key remit of both Potter and Head of Recruitment Kyle Macaulay is to bring down the age of the side, with a clear direction of younger players being targeted this summer.

Reporting on The West Ham Way Patreon, our club insider Ex has advised that Liverpool defensive midfielder Morton is a player of interest and is being watched as he features for the England U21s.

“As we have reported before West Ham have been keeping an eye on the European Under 21 Championships on a couple of targets and to find any other talented youngsters too,” reported Ex.

“It has been well reported that we are interested in Manchester City midfielder James McAtee, who scored in the win against Spain.

“Another player who played in that game and has also been on our radar for a long time, as we first revealed at the end of the last window, is Liverpool’s Tyler Morton .

“Morton also started England’s game against Spain on Saturday and you will be able to see both West Ham targets tomorrow in the semi final against the Netherlands.”

Ex has also further advised that Omari Hutchison is another player of interest, however the wing position is not considered at priority at this stage.
