Manchester United continue to be linked with a move for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.

United remain in the market for a new centre forward this summer, with Osimhen regularly mentioned on the rumour mill. The Nigeria international was on loan with Galatasaray last season - where he scored 37 goals in 41 appearances across all competitions.

This summer has seen Osimhen linked with a permanent exit from Italian champions Napoli, as well as over the last 12 months, but Galatasaray could only sign the 26-year-old on loan last year. Now that the striker has returned to Naples, rumours of a permanent exit have resurfaced, with Old Trafford being mentioned as a possible destination.

Here, The Manchester Evening News takes a look at the latest surrounding Osimhen's future;

Galatasaray wait

Galatasaray's vice-president Abdullah Kavukcu recently urged Osimhen to make a telling decision about his future. Kavukcu confirmed that the Super Lig club want to re-sign Osimhen this summer, but are still waiting for the green light from the player himself.

"Osimhen must decide as soon as possible," said Kavukcu in his recent interview. "He always asks us for time, and we respect that, as he has a family too, but time runs out.

"We have made a much higher offer than other European clubs and at the moment we are not negotiating other strikers. We are not thinking about Plan B, we want Osimhen.

"We have already spoken to Napoli, too. Our goal is to build up a team that can compete with teams from all over the world, not just in Turkey.

"We must be patient. We're working day and night."

Saudi Pro League offer

It's not just United and Galatasaray that have been linked with signing Osimhen this summer. Clubs from the Saudi Pro League have also been mentioned as wanting to sign the striker - notably Al-Hilal.

Italian news publication, Corriere dello Sport, recently claimed that Al-Hilal had presented a three-year contract to Osimhen, with the option of another 12 months.

It has been claimed that the offer is worth a total salary of €160million (£136.5million), or €40million (£34million) per season.

Man Utd message

United have been named as an ideal destination for Osimhen by Nigeria manager Eric Chelle.

Chelle says that the Napoli striker could join a new club this summer, suggesting a move to United as an option.

"The reality is there is a transfer window. During this time, a player like him is not focused at 100 per cent," Chelle said in an interview with BBC Sport Africa earlier this month.

"I need to protect him physically and mentally, because maybe he will go [and get a transfer move].

"Maybe a club like Manchester United. Or maybe Chelsea, Barcelona or Real Madrid. So he needs to be focused."
