The Oklahoma City Thunder are NBA champions. The team won its second league title in franchise history, and its first since 1979 when it was still known as the Seattle SuperSonics.
That championship came following a decisive Game 7 win over the Pacers in the Finals, sparked by an 18-point, eight-rebound performance from Chet Holmgren. The team’s been celebrating ever since!
Oklahoma City was the Western Conference favorite to play in the championship series, boasting preseason odds around 7/1. The Thunder met those expectations by rolling through the postseason on their way to a title.
Their biggest test came in the Finals against Indiana, where they were able to overcome a 3-2 deficit to bring home the crown. A locker room celebration took place immediately after the win.
Players admittedly didn’t dive into the alcohol due to their inexperience with popping champagne. That didn’t stop them from partying throughout the wee hours of the morning.

It seems the drinks were flowing at the Oklahoma City Thunder championship parade, though. One player was close to being cut off!
Drunk Chet Holmgren has title trophy taken from him.
The Thunder were out and about to celebrate the championship win with fans on Tuesday. Bottles of Don Julio and bubbly made frequent appearances.

Holmgren, at one point, was teased by teammates for getting lost in the sauce. While addressing the crowd on stage at the parade, the Oklahoma City Thunder center began stumbling over his words.
It led to a comical interaction, and subsequent reaction from followers on social media.

“He was a little drunk,” replied one fan after seeing Chet Holmgren on stage. “Bro’s been drinking for two days,” said another.
Teammates jokingly grabbed the championship trophy from Holmgren to avoid potential disaster. He was enjoying himself – maybe a little too much!
The celebration is much deserved following the impressive run to an NBA title. The team should be able to sleep off the hangover in the coming days.
