£50m player now teams up with agency who represent Kai Havertz after holding talks to join Arsenal

Arsenal are working to sign a new winger in addition to a striker.

Much of the focus has been on a new No.9 this summer, as Arsenal attempt to sign Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP and also hold talks with RB Leipzig over Benjamin Sesko.

However, there is a desire from Mikel Arteta to bolster the wide attacking areas too, with Andrea Berta exploring a deal to sign Rodrygo from Real Madrid – Arsenal were also linked to Nico Williams before the Spaniard agreed to join Barcelona.

West Ham No.14 Mohammed Kudus is also said to be on the shortlist at Arsenal – and the Ghana international has now added fuel to the fire by switching to a new agency in ROOF.

Mohammed Kudus joins agency Arsenal know well amid transfer links

TBR Football understand Arsenal have held talks to sign Kudus from West Ham as Berta looks to add depth to the flanks behind Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.

Now – according to The Sun – the Ghanaian has teamed up with ROOF after briefly allowing a family member to manage his career, an agency known for being involved in significant deals.

ROOF recently helped Virgil van Dijk earn a new £400,000-a-week contract at Liverpool, and are currently involved in talks between Crystal Palace and Ousmane Diomande as the Eagles target the £50m Sporting CP defender.

Interestingly, ROOF already have some involvement at Arsenal too, as they represent Kai Havertz – playing a role in his £65m move from Chelsea in June 2023 – and also have Per Mertesacker on their roster, who is currently manager of the Arsenal Academy.

Therefore, if Arsenal opt to take talks over a deal for the 24-year-old to an advanced stage, there is already a foundation to work from with ROOF.

TBR Football understand Arsenal are unwilling to pay more than £50m for Kudus this summer, although West Ham hope to receive at least £60m.

Arsenal have a Mohammed Kudus alternative

Arteta is seemingly looking for a similar profile of winger to Saka, one who cuts inside from the right flank onto their left foot, which is how Kudus tends to operate.

The man born in Accra can also cause havoc centrally.

However, Arsenal are monitoring Noni Madueke of Chelsea too – who is also of that ilk – so Berta is clearly not just speaking to West Ham as the Italian aims to improve the wide attacking areas at the Emirates Stadium.
