'All the best': Curtis Jones reacts as 'insane' Liverpool player confirms he's leaving the club

Curtis Jones was in fine form for Liverpool throughout the 2024-25 season.

The midfielder wasn’t one of Arne Slot’s regular starters, but when called upon, he more than proved his worth.

Jones has filled in across the middle three this term, with his performances even earning the attention of England manager Thomas Tuchel.

The centre-midfielder will have one eye on the 2026 World Cup and will be hoping that the Liverpool manager gives him a tad more game time to make his dream become a reality.

Recently, there have been rumours shared around that this could be Jones’ last season in a Liverpool kit, but with the way things are headed, that seems unlikely.

And, although Jones’ exit may feel impossible at the moment, some of his other teammates haven’t been so lucky.

Curtis Jones sends farewell message to Nat Phillips

Liverpool are in the middle of a massive turnover with plenty of players both leaving and joining the Reds’ ranks.

Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong and Armin Pecsi have all been brought in, with others such as Caoimhin Kelleher choosing to depart.

On Monday, yet another exit was finalised with Nat Phillips sealing a move to West Brom.

The defender became something of a cult hero at Liverpool due to the performances he and Rhys Williams put in during the Reds’ defensive crisis a couple of seasons ago.

In fact, Jurgen Klopp even dubbed the duo as “insane” after the performances they put in, but unfortunately, when all of the Anfield outfit’s players became fit again, both were cast aside.

This resulted in numerous loan moves with Phillips having a rather impressive season with Derby in the 2024-25 campaign, hence why the Baggies have made a move for him.

After his exit was made official, Phillips put a post out on his personal Instagram account that said the following: “Thank you for all the memories, love and support.

“This club has been a huge part of my life, and I’ll always be grateful for the opportunities it’s given me and the people on and off the pitch who I have been fortunate to meet along the way.

“It’s been an absolute honour to represent Liverpool and one that I will be forever proud of.

“Lastly, a special thank you to the fans, whose support I have felt continuously. I wish the club and all involved the very best of luck for the future, YNWA.”

This heartfelt post then sparked a reply from Jones, who simply wrote: “All the best, bro.”

Liverpool will be the team to beat in the Premier League next season

Although Slot winning the Premier League with Liverpool wasn’t on anybody’s bingo card for the 2024-25 season, the Dutchman defied the odds and brought the title back to Anfield.

They were already dominant across most of the campaign last time around, but with the additions of players such as Wirtz and eventually Frimpong, their ranks have improved tenfold.

Liverpool now have plenty of creative minds on the pitch that can create something from nothing, and if Jones plays his cards right, he could even take Alexis Mac Allister’s place in the team for a few games next season.

Of course, it’s still early days in the transfer window, and anything can happen, but on the face of things, it feels like Liverpool could be the team to beat again next season, especially if they get a deal for someone such as Hugo Ekitike over the line.
