Cade Otton Among Elite NFL Tight Ends

June 24th, 2025

Tight end Cade Otton.

After Week 14 last season, Cade Otton ranked seventh in total catches (57), seventh in yards (576) and fourth in completions of 20 yards more among NFL tight ends.

And Otton was an every-down player with a big role in the Buccaneers’ punishing run game.

Then he got hurt and returned for a couple of catches in the Bucs’ playoff loss.

Now in a contract year, Otton would love to show he belongs in the elite class of tight ends. And he’s with many in that group right now.

Otton is attending the Nashville-based Tight End University founded by George Kittle, Travis Kelce and Greg Olsen. Dozens of NFL tight ends gather there for a few days every year to share best practices, technique, contract negotiations, etc., on and off the field. Joe assumes the seminar features a lot of drinking and late nights, too.

Otton is the lone Bucs tight end on the list of attendees shared by the event on social media.

Joe asked Otton last year about why he hadn’t attended Tight End University previously. Otton said he was home in connection with the birth of a child, but he hoped to attend soon.

Well, now is the time.
