Aaron Rodgers Tells Pat McAfee ‘Pretty Sure’ This Will Be Final NFL Season

Aaron Rodgers explained why he only signed a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers this offseason, and your inclination would be correct.

During a Tuesday interview on ESPN's The Pat McAfee Show, the 41-year-old NFL veteran was asked if there's a chance this upcoming season may be his farewell tour after career stops in Green Bay, New York and now Pittsburgh.

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure this is it," he admitted. "That's why we just did a one-year deal. Steelers didn't need to put any extra years on it or anything. This was really about finishing with a lot of love, and fun, and peace for the career that I've had."

He continued, "I mean, I've played 20 freaking years. It's been a long run and I've enjoyed it. What better place to finish than in one of the cornerstone franchises of the NFL? With Mike Tomlin and a great group of leadership, and great guys, and a city that expects you to win."

If this is, in fact, going to be Rodgers' final year, then he's had one hell of a ride (sans his first year with the New York Jets).

In 20 seasons in the NFL, Rodgers has passed for 62,952 yards and 503 touchdowns, to go along with a Super Bowl XLV in which he also was named Super Bowl MVP.

It's the second major announcement Rodgers has made on McAfee's show this offseason. He casually dropped that he had a new girlfriend before, again, casually dropping to reporters that he got married in the offseason.
