Jim White and Simon Jordan have questioned whether Rangers could become a feeder club for Leeds United.
Rangers have been taken over by Andrew Cavenagh and a US consortium led by the 49ers, who also own the Elland Road club.
With the Whites now in the Premier League, fears have emerged that Russell Martin’s side could already be secondary to the Yorkshire outfit.
Now, White and Jordan have shared their verdict, which could see the Gers fall victim to the successes of their new sister side.

Rangers could become Leeds United feeder club
It is fair to say that excitement has surrounded Ibrox ever since the American group came in to take up a 51 per cent controlling share in Govan.

This has somewhat subsided with the chances that Leeds could become the main focus of the likes of Paraag Marathe in the coming months.
With Daniel Farke’s side in the Premier League, there is bound to be a focus on LS11, especially with the riches available in England’s elite division.

As a result, the Light Blues’ best interests may not be at heart, something that was questioned by supporters in the most recent fan consultation meeting.
With that in mind, White has questioned via talkSPORT (24 June, 11:55am) whether a feeder club model could be utilised by the new owners.
He said: “Could Rangers be looked at upon as a feeder club [to Leeds United]? Do you think, with the way Cavanagh is sounding, that there’s no chance of that? ‘No, we’re here to do a job at Rangers and have as much success, if not more than, at Leeds.”
Jordan was left unsure by this, questioning what the wealth of Premier League success could do to the Gers’ prospects.
The ex-Crystal Palace owner added: “It looks as if they’ve paid somewhere in the region of £75m for their 51 per cent shareholding and with a club of that stature and the global reach of a club like Rangers, then look that it’s part of a multi-club strategy and think, ‘It’s part of an empire and part of a whole framework of deals that they’re doing and there’s reasons behind it.’
“Is it a legitimate concern to say, of the two, the bigger economically is Leeds United, not because it’s a bigger club than Rangers, but because it’s in a bigger league, and the revenues that Leeds United will generate if they stay in the Premier League will dwarf that of Rangers.
“So, there’s not an unreasonable thought process to say that if you find some talent at Rangers, it will find its way somewhere down the line to Leeds United if their opportunity was in the Premier League and to push and kick on to be a top six side.”
Rangers risk Leeds United priority after takeover
It is the nature of the beast when entering a multi-club model that one side is likely to take precedence over another, depending on finances.
With Leeds always likely to bring in more money, there is a good reason why the 49ers and Marathe would focus on them.
Although that may appear to be a blow, the Light Blues still have the focus of Cavenagh to back them and the benefits that a sister club will bring.
This could see a number of top players come in on loan from Elland Road in the future, something which could massively boost the Govan club moving forward.
It may not all be so doom and gloom.
