The former Lioness, 40, has officially left Gers after her appointment at the Women's Super League 2 team was confirmed, with the Ibrox club paid compensation.
News of her impending exit broke last night and it became clearer today why - she was heading for Palace.
It became official today with both clubs confirming the move.
Potter feels she is moving to a club with a lot of ambition with chairman Steve Parish taking the women's team very seriously.
She told her new side's website: "I’m extremely honoured to join Crystal Palace and looking forward to coming in and hitting the ground running.

"I know there’s huge ambition running throughout the club. I had a really good conversation with Steve Parish and could see how important the women’s team are to him and his aspirations for this club.
"It’s a massive place to be right now. We really want to make sure that we've got the network and the environment right, so that we’re able to make this season a successful one.
"My message to the fans is that we are going to fight – we are going to fight with you and for you. We want to see you bring the noise and support the team."
Rangers Women released their own statement earlier and managing director Donald Gillies, said: “I want to sincerely thank Jo for all her efforts over her two years in charge of our women’s first-team. There is no doubt we are in a stronger position now compared to when she came in, and she leaves behind a hugely talented, young and hungry squad for the new Head Coach to work with.
“While naturally the league will always be our target, extending our winning run to three in the Sky Sports Cup and winning back-to-back Scottish Cups should not be overlooked.
“On behalf of everyone at Rangers, we wish Jo all the very best for her new role at Crystal Palace. The search has now begun for our new Head Coach and I look forward to updating our supporters on that in the coming weeks.”
