Trevor Lawrence and Travis Hunter's Building Chemistry in Jaguars Camp

The Jacksonville Jaguars will bank on star quarterback Trevor Lawrence and rookie two-way star Travis Hunter to script a comeback from a disappointing season. Their 4-13 record was the second-worst in the league last season.

Injuries limited Lawrence to only 10 games last year, missing seven of the eight games in the latter half of the season. He suffered a blow to his left shoulder in the Week 9 clash against the Philadelphia Eagles.

He returned to the squad two weeks later, only to suffer a concussion in the second quarter. Lawrence was placed on the injury reserve and hasn't played since. The Jaguars' QB will be entering his fifth season this year and is aiming for his second postseason run.

During an episode of NFL Network's "The Insiders" show, sportscaster Sara Walsh discussed her opinion on Lawrence's recovery from his shoulder injury and if he'll be able to suit up for the first game of the 2025 NFL season.

"Trevor Lawrence certainly feels that way," Walsh said. "It's been a long time since he had thrown a football, at least for him. Four months off of not throwing from a surgery that happened in December."

"He said that he's been working on a few things, some subtle things this offseason. His footwork, not major changes, and then using his eyes as a weapon against the defense. Little things that he has picked up from video."

Walsh discussed the support that Hunter, who recently signed a historic deal with the Jaguars, and Brian Thomas Jr., who rewrote the Jaguars' rookie record books last season, will provide to the Jaguars' QB.

Walsh gave an insight into Lawrence's views on the Jaguars' two-way star and the QB's offseason plans with Hunter.

"Lawrence says that he's already seen Travis Hunter grow tremendously during this offseason, but he said now is the time that he can get his mind right. Reset a little bit because he's had so much thrown at him," she noted.

"And Trevor also said in the next couple of weeks he's going to be spending quite a bit of time with Hunter so that they can work on timing and then also just to be going over everything in a new system, because it's not just new to Hunter, it's really new to everyone."

Jaguars fans had little to celebrate last season. They hope that the Lawrence-Hunter duo will turn things around in 2025. Eric Murray, Patrick Mekari, and Robert Hainsey were added to the roster to bolster the squad's firepower.
