**Minneapolis/St. Paul** – The NBA Board of Governors has unanimously approved the sale of the controlling interest in the Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx to Marc Lore and Alex Rodriguez. The transaction is expected to close this week.

As the new controlling owners, Lore and Rodriguez will assume full leadership responsibility for the Timberwolves, Lynx and Iowa Wolves (G League). They will serve as Co-Chairmen, with Lore assuming the role of Timberwolves Governor and Rodriguez as Alternate Governor. For the Lynx, Rodriguez will serve as Governor while Lore will act as Alternate Governor. This milestone, made official by the NBA’s Board of Governors’ approval, marks the culmination of the gradual transfer of ownership from longtime General Partner Glen Taylor.

“We are honored to lead the Timberwolves and Lynx into a bold and exciting new era,” said Lore. “Today marks a momentous milestone for us, and we fully recognize the great responsibility that comes with serving as stewards of these exceptional franchises. We are committed to building an organization that sets the standard for excellence, is universally admired, and rooted in pride that spans generations.”

“I’ve dedicated my entire life to the world of sports; not just as a game, but as a powerful force that unites people, uplifts communities, and changes lives,” said Rodriguez. “I’m incredibly honored and energized to roll up my sleeves and get to work. I know what it takes to be a champion, and I’m ready to bring that same commitment and drive to create a winning culture in Minnesota.”

Over the past four years as limited partners, Lore and Rodriguez have championed a forward-thinking, long-term vision focused on establishing the most respected and admired franchises in professional sports. Their approach prioritizes investment in high-character individuals, business innovation, player development, and best-in-class fan experiences—while maintaining a steadfast commitment to the Twin Cities community.

The Co-Chairmen have built a deep and dynamic partnership rooted in mutual respect, complementary skill sets, and a shared vision to build something extraordinary in Minnesota. Both are proud girl dads and close friends who bring a balance of corporate leadership, entrepreneurial grit, and elite sports experience.

Lore is the Founder and CEO of Wonder, a company reinventing mealtime through a super app and a network of delivery-first restaurants built with world-class chefs. A serial entrepreneur, he previously founded Jet.com, which was acquired by Walmart, where he went on to serve as President and CEO of U.S. eCommerce. He also co-founded Quidsi, the parent company of Diapers.com, which was acquired by Amazon.

Rodriguez, a 14-time MLB All-Star and World Series Champion, launched his business career during his playing days. In addition to building A-Rod Corp, a fully integrated real estate investment and development firm, he has demonstrated a strong track record as a private equity investor with multiple successful exits across his investment portfolio.

From humble beginnings, both have risen to the highest levels of their respective fields, and this ownership milestone represents a dream come true for each of them.

The Minnesota Timberwolves, founded in 1989, and Minnesota Lynx, founded in 1999, remain integral pillars of the Twin Cities’ sports landscape. Under Lore and Rodriguez’s new leadership, both teams will continue their investments into creating meaningful impact in the Twin Cities community.
