It has been widely reported that Villa face a financial deficit in terms of balancing our books sufficiently to ensure we comply with PSR ahead of June 30.

While it’s unclear what the exact figure is and whether or not the club will look at alternative solutions as opposed to player sales to make sure we’re in line with the regulations, speculation continues to suggest that there will be exits.
According to [journalist Pete O’Rourke](https://x.com/SportsPeteO/status/1937602003493933517), Villa are prepared to sell Dendoncker, Barry and Kesler-Hayden this month, and that will hopefully address the PSR concerns that we might have.
Given Dendoncker is considered surplus to requirements having spent last season out on loan at Anderlecht having fallen down the pecking order under Unai Emery, it’s no real surprise to see his name being paired with a departure.
However, it’s one thing wanting to offload the Belgian midfielder and another entirely to find an interested party who is willing to make a suitable offer to ensure an agreement can be reached.
The 30-year-old still has one more year remaining on his Villa contract, and while Anderlecht have an option to buy on him as per the terms of the loan agreement, there has been little to suggest that they will trigger that option, and it remains to be seen if there will be much interest from elsewhere to deliver the desired outcome for all concerned.
Meanwhile, both Barry and Kesler-Hayden are top prospects with bright futures ahead of them, but with a difficult path ahead in terms of breaking into the Villa first-team, an exit for either, or both, wouldn’t be much of a surprise either and so perhaps the reporting needs to be taken with a pinch of salt as it’s stating the obvious to an extent.
Nevertheless, if the pair are both now considered up for sale, it’s hoped that we can get a decent fee for them, as while it had been hoped that they would be able to make a breakthrough at senior level for Villa, the next best-case scenario would be to secure important financial boosts with their exits which will hopefully make the necessary dent in our PSR deficit.
It should arguably be a simpler task to sell the talented duo, but time will tell if the necessary exits materialise.
