Jordan Love is entering year three as the Green Bay Packers main quarterback and this time, he is healthy. There’s no more excuses for him to underperform because of this and because of an improved wide receiver corps, with their 23rd pick Matthew Golden being hyped up.

Love’s 2024 season is being debated whether he underperformed or not but critics also point out how he was affected by injuries.
He will enter the 2025 season with a renewed hope and the Packers feel that as well with their offseason moves.
NFL’s Kevin Patra believes his performance this season will be a make or break for the Packers using the stats he recorded from last year. However, it is not solely him. He can improve his stats now that they have a promising wide receiver.

With the addition of first-rounder Matthew Golden and other wideouts potentially taking a stride forward, the passing attack is poised to improve. There is enough evidence to believe Love is on an upward trajectory entering Year 3 as a starter. That alone should bring optimism the Packers can regain the division crown for the first time since 2021.
Matthew Golden-Jordan Love tandem is critical
Love has been very excited about the arrival of Golden. He thought he needed to let his arms loose was his initial thought according to a conversation revealed by his head coach Matt LaFleur.
Patra thinks Golden will be featured a lot in the offense and he will be the main reason to make Love an effective quarterback.
Matthew Golden, Green Bay Packers
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Matthew Golden is interviewed by the media during rookie minicamp on Friday, May 2, 2025, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The Packers selected Golden with their first round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

“If Golden doesn’t perform like a WR1, the Packers will be right back in the same boat they were in a year ago, with a cavalcade of good-but-not-great receivers surrounding Love. Without a field-tilting receiver, Green Bay’s offense can be slowed,” Patra wrote.
There’s a lot of expectations this time for Love. He is even tagged as a dark horse MVP.
LaFleur and offensive coordinator Jeff Hafley should feel the pressure to make it easy for those two.
