Liverpool transfer news as 3 deals near and Marc Guehi sent clear message amid Arne Slot…

Liverpool still has another 68 days left to conclude its transfer business this summer, and Arne Slot's side has been far more active than usual with a number of deals already done and many more in the pipeline.

Florian Wirtz is the standout so far, but Liverpool has already snapped up a couple of highly rated goalkeepers and Jeremie Frimpong. Trent Alexander-Arnold has gone, but the expectation is that the Reds will have a stronger roster to start next season, having already won the Premier League title by a distance in the campaign just gone.

Here is the Liverpool.com verdict on the transfer gossip to emerge around the Reds today. We start with a trio of deals that haven't been confirmed yet, but won't be too far away.

Three Liverpool deals near

Liverpool has not confirmed the deal for Milos Kerkez just yet, but it is close to being done, and the confirmation should be imminent. The player himself (as well as his whole family!) has long made it clear that the Reds were the team that he wanted to join.

Sporting director Richard Hughes is a big part of that. He was the man who took him to Bournemouth two years ago and has obviously kept in touch since. Kerkez was arguably the best left-back in the Premier League, so capturing him is a big coup.

Elsewhere, Jarell Quansah's move to Bayer Leverkusen has not gone through officially yet. It is reported by Sky Germany that Liverpool will have a buy-back option worth just £34 million ($46 million) for the 22-year-old — a very similar future to what he is being sold for.

Young goalkeeper Harvey Davies is closing in on a move to League Two side Crawley Town on a season-long loan deal. Tyler Morton, meanwhile, is of interest to Graham Potter, according to The West Ham Way, and could make a Premier League move.

Liverpool.com says: If there is a buy-back clause that low for Quansah, then that would be huge for the Reds. Quansah is a big talent and with regular game time, it would be no surprise if he really clicked into gear. He will get that in Germany, but not at Anfield... for now.

Marc Guehi (Crystal Palace)

With Jarell Quansah heading to Bayer Leverkusen, Liverpool will surely need to find a replacement center-back. Going into the new season with only Joe Gomez as back-up would be a massive risk.

Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi has been put forward as one option being considered. And soccer pundit Darren Bent thinks it would be a great move for all parties.

"It's a difficult one, but if Liverpool come calling, certainly with the way Liverpool are recruiting at the minute and thickening their squad, that’s the place to go," Bent said on talkSPORT.

"I get it, you may have to go there and battle for a spot, but I think Ibrahima Konate has got one year left. (Guehi) has got one year left, it might be best for all parties, including the player.

"Liverpool sell Konate to Real Madrid if they are willing to pay and then you buy Guehi, and then neither goes for free. You (both) get a fee for both players, and Guehi can go to Liverpool and start. I'm a big fan of his."

Liverpool.com says: The Reds will hopefully be able to tie down Konate to a deal, but it doesn't sound like there has been progress just yet. The Frenchman should be entering his peak years and it would be a shame if they unfolded elsewhere.
