Man United have been linked with a potential swap deal involving Jadon Sancho in recent days.

Manchester United are looking to offload winger Jadon Sancho this summer, after Chelsea refused to pay the £25m obligation to buy him as they couldn’t agree personal terms with the English winger.

Sancho returned to Old Trafford, and is now on the hunt for his next destination as his future at Manchester United is all but non-existent. Chelsea have paid £5m to the Red Devils for going back on their obligation. He has been linked with a move to Italy, with reports saying that both Napoli and Juventus are keen to sign him.

The latter are reportedly considering a swap deal for Sancho, where they will offer a player in exchange for the former Borussia Dortmund winger. This could provide Manchester United with a massive win over the Serie A club.

Sancho swap deal with Juventus would be a “massive win” for Man Utd

Vlahovic has previously been linked with a move to United and Premier League rivals Arsenal, as he has become surplus to requirements at the Old Lady. He fell out of favour with manager Igor Tudor, despite an impressive goal-scoring record last season.

The Serbian international made 43 appearances for Juventus, scoring 16 goals and providing five assists. He would help United fill their need at the striker position, and aged just 25, he has plenty more to give in his career.

But most of all, the swap deal would be a massive win for United financially, as Sancho is priced at £25m, which was his obligation to buy price at Chelsea. Vlahovic’s market value is estimated to be around £30m according to TransferMarkt, but it has been said previously that Juventus wants to sell him for a fee closer to £60m, providing a big financial gain for the Red Devils.

Furthermore, Sancho is on a wage of over £300,000 per week at Manchester United, so it would be a great boost with regards to wage budget and PSR, for the Red Devils to offload the 25-year-old.

With Sancho eyed by Juventus and United wanting rid of him, getting his salary off the books would be important but to be able to bring a striker through the door would mean two big issues this summer being solved and be an unbelievable piece of transfer business for the Red Devils.

Man United could also target Napoli swap

If a deal between the Red Devils and Juventus isn’t possible, United could pivot to Napoli, who are also reportedly considering a move for Sancho as they look for a long-term replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who joined Paris Saint-Germain last summer.

The Red Devils could offer Sancho as part of a deal to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, who they have also been linked to alongside Vlahovic. Osimhen has a better scoring record than the Serbian, but with a release clause of £63m, United would be expected to add in more funds to equal a deal.

Osimhen scored 37 goals in all competitions last season whilst on loan at Turkish side Galatsarary; he is now looking to leave Napoli on a permanent transfer this summer, and the Premier League is a potential destination.
