Arsenal are not planning to sell Gabriel Martinelli this summer despite interest from German giants Bayern Munich, sources have told Football Insider.

The 24-year-old is reportedly a target for Vincent Kompany‘s Bundesliga winners this summer.

Arsenal are themselves looking for a new left-sided winger to provide competition and potentially upgrade on Martinelli as they look to make a leap in their quest for silverware.

However, it is believed the London club are leaning towards keeping Martinelli – despite being aware his sale could raise big funds.

Arsenal plot new left winger signing this summer

Mikel Arteta is keen to avoid losing any of his top performers and the Brazil international has been a reliable mainstay in the Gunners’ squad for the last four seasons.

Martinelli hit 10 goals and notched seven assists in 51 appearances across all competitions for Arsenal last season.

He is under contract at the Emirates Stadium until June 2027 with the Gunners holding the option to extend his deal a further 12 months.

The 18-cap Brazil star joined Arsenal in 2019 for a reported fee of around £6million and has gone on to make 225 appearances for the club.

Martinelli, who primarily plays on the left flank, has won just one major trophy with the Gunners – the FA Cup in 2020.

Arsenal decide to sell defender before 1 September deadline

Meanwhile, Football Insider has revealed (18 June) that Arsenal have decided to sell Oleksandr Zinchenko amid interest from AC Milan.

The Ukraine international came close to leaving the Gunners in January and it now almost certain that he departs this summer.

Zinchenko joined Arsenal in 2022 from Man City for a reported £30million, and immediately became a regular in Arteta’s side – but played only 552 minutes of action last season.
