Marcus Rashford gets hope over his dream move, but it won't suit Manchester United at all

Marcus Rashford has become an outcast at Manchester United under Ruben Amorim.

It didn’t take Ruben Amorim long to make up his mind about Marcus Rashford. The 27-year-old was quickly frozen out of the team and failed to recover before being sent on loan to Aston Villa.

Rashford rediscovered some confidence during his time at Villa, but didn’t do enough to warrant a permanent deal. He did earn a call-up to the England squad in March under Thomas Tuchel.

It has long been stated that Rashford dreams of joining Barcelona, but his future remains up in the air due to the ongoing financial situation at the La Liga outfit.

Barcelona have other priorities in the transfer market, and it could be the case that they run out of financial legroom to add Rashford to their squad. That may explain why the Rashford transfer saga could drag on for some time.

Ineos will be keen to sell Rashford this summer. The Academy graduate, who is currently among the top earners at Old Trafford, would generate pure profit.

Barcelona plan for Marcus Rashford deal won’t suit Man Utd

Rashford’s desire to play for Barcelona has not been hampered by the club’s transfer pursuit of Athletic Club star Nico Williams.

Williams is Barcelona’s No. 1 target this summer as Hansi Flick looks to bolster his attack.

However, Flick also wants to add Rashford to his squad due to his flexibility.

According to The Guardian, Barcelona are eyeing a loan move for Rashford, with Flick believing the United forward would enhance his options in attack.

It is understood that Rashford’s pace and ability to operate as a No. 9 would add more depth to the squad as well as give the German coach cover for Robert Lewandowski at centre-forward.

This proposal may eventually get accepted, so long as United get assurances that half or most of Rashford’s wages are covered, but it won’t be ideal as Ineos will want to push for a permanent deal.

Amorim has already decided that Rashford won’t be part of his plans, so United have no other choice but to find him a new club before the start of the season.

Rashford vs Lamine Yamal stats

In a recent interview with Spanish YouTuber Javi Ruiz, Rashford revealed that he would like to play with Lamine Yamal.

It was the biggest public hint yet that Rashford is desperate to join Barcelona this summer.

Looking at Rashford’s stats last season (United and Villa), it remains to be seen if Yamal will be as excited to play with the England international.
