Leeds United make improved offer – Whites to accelerate discussions to ‘finalise transfer’

Leeds United have concrete interest in RC Strasbourg’s Habib Diarra and have already made an offer for him.

On June 9th, L’Equipe stated the Ligue 1 club hadn’t responded yet after the Whites made an offer.

Last week, Strasbourg president Marc Keller said the Leeds target will be sold if there’s an attractive offer this summer. On Tuesday, RMC Sport reported Atlético Madrid have made contact to sign the 21-year-old.

Africa Foot provide the latest on Leeds and the La Liga club, and Diarra’s preference.

Atlético and Everton, who have also shon interest in the Senegal international, haven’t made any concrete moves to try and sign him. Daniel Farke’s side, on the other hand, are the only club to convert their ambition into a firm offer.

The Whites have secured promotion to the Premier League and have already seen their initial €25m bid rejected, according to the report, and they’ve now made an improved offer worth €28m.

Africa Foot adds the English club are offering a three-year contract to the midfielder. The length of the contract may be higher considering he’s just 21 years of age.

The Senegalese dreams of moving to England, his entourage told Africa Foot.

Leeds can help Diarra fulfil his Premier League dream and after tabling a new bid, they ‘intend to accelerate discussions to finalise the transfer’.
