With the NBA Draft just around the corner, all eyes are on Cooper Flagg—a name that’s quickly become one of the most talked-about in basketball. Through a dominant run at Duke, Flagg’s rise has been nothing short of electric, and now he’s on the brink of taking that next, career-defining step.
But before the big night, the young athlete took a moment to soak in the energy of New York City and reflect on what the future might hold. What he shared offered a rare, honest glimpse into his mindset ahead of one of the biggest moments of his life.
Flagg took a bit of time to soak in New York City with his family. First stop? The top of the Empire State Building. While taking in the view, Flagg reflected on the moment and shared his feelings. “Obviously a surreal feeling just to be here,” he said. “I’m just trying to enjoy it and take it all in with my family.”

The NBA Draft kicks off Wednesday night at the Barclays Center with almost all signs pointing to Duke’s Cooper Flagg being the first name off the board. No shock there as Flagg basically did it all for the Blue Devils last season, leading the team in points, rebounds, assists and steals on their way to the Final Four.
Unless something wild happens, the Dallas Mavericks are expected to scoop him up with the top pick. If that happens, Flagg will become the second-youngest No. 1 pick in NBA history, right behind none other than LeBron James, who went first back in 2003.
