Newcastle United fans have sent a clear message to Eddie Howe on the future of Joe Willock.
It’s crunch time for any number of Newcastle United players this summer. Will a new contract drop for Alexander Isak? Will Anthony Gordon be tempted by Liverpool? Is it finally the end of the road for Sean Longstaff and Callum Wilson? And the list goes on.
One player who is definitely looked at as a possible saleable asset - in a PSR-driven climate - would be Joe Willock. Along with Harvey Barnes they are two squad members whose exit could potentially generate some much-needed cash, and headroom, as well as not obviously weakening the first choice, Premier League starting XI.

That by no means suggests Eddie Howe is ready to cut ties with either man, but rumours have been circling that Willock has attracted some summer interest from his native London, with Crystal Palace and Fulham thought to have considered a move for the former Arsenal man.
So, with all of that in mind, we asked members of our NewcastleWorld NUFC Facebook community - which can be found here - what they thought about the future of Willock. We asked: “Will it be a big season for Joe Willock? Or could he be set to leave?”
That was followed by a picture of the player working away while on a break in France, with the words: “Here he is working on his fitness while on holiday this week.”
And here’s what fans said about Willock - and whether he’s worth keeping on Tyneside, or whether it’s time to go for the player. Plenty have sent a warning to head coach Howe with their views on the £25million man.
What NUFC fans think about Joe Willock’s future
Lloydie: “Keep him use him on the right when Murphy don't play needs game time if he can stay fit.”
Lynne Brown: “Leave.”
Steven Otter: “Sell. Too many injuries invest in a new player.”
Michael Perry: “Time to move him on he’s not at the level required for where Newcastle is headed. Bless him.”
Anthony Edwards: “Depends on AG I reckon. He was great off the left 2 seasons ago. Not had a luck in since (partly due to injuries).”
Jeremy Walker: “If Willock is sold, that would leave only five players for three midfield places. Thought Eddie was trying to build a squad, not dismantle it.”
Eric Engleby: “Wilock and Longstaff need sold and replaced with better quality.”
