2025 NBA Mock Draft, FIBA flavour: Part IV

MIES (Switzerland) - The 2025 NBA Draft is just days away and the lives of players will change when they hear their names in the two rounds of the draft on June 25 and 26. There will be a massive FIBA influence among the 59 picks with about 60 percent having played in international competitions or a Basketball Without Borders camp.

International players are having more and more impact on the NBA and the 30 NBA franchises are recognizing that and bringing in more players from around the world. We examined the various mock drafts out there and created our own list - highlighting the players' participation in FIBA events.

This is the fourth and final installment with picks 1-15.

#15 Will Riley - Canada

Will Riley played just one season of college basketball, getting named Big Ten Sixth Man of the Year at University of Illinois.

The Canadian native went to high school in the United States and attended the 2024 Basketball Without Borders Global camp and was named camp MVP.

#14 Thomas Sorber - USA

Thomas Sorber spent one season in collegiate basketball, playing this past year at Georgetown University. The big man averaged 14.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks to be named Third-Team All-Big East and a member of the Big East All-Freshman team.

#13 Joan Beringer - France

Joan Beringer came up in the youth ranks at French club SIG Strasbourg but made the jump to professional basketball at Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana.

The center, who did not start basketball until 2021, helped the club win the Slovenian league and cup double and was the ABA Adriatic League blocks leader. Beringer played for France at the FIBA U18 EuroBasket 2024.

#12 Egor Demin - Russia

Egor Demin completed his only season in college basketball with Brigham Young University and was named to the Big 12 All-Freshman Team after averaging 10.6 points and 5.5 assists. The playmaker played the previous three seasons in the youth ranks of Real Madrid.

He made his Spanish ACB league debut in 2022-23 but that was his only appearance for the club's pro team. Demin played one summer for Russia, being a leader at the FIBA U16 European Challengers 2021.

#11 Derik Queen - USA

Derik Queen played one season of college basketball, being one of the leaders at University of Maryland. The center was selected First-Team All-Big Ten as well as the Big Ten Freshman of the Year.

Queen was a member of the Montverde Academy team that won the 2022 national high school title.

#10 Kasparas Jakucionis - Lithuania

Kasparas Jakucionis played just one season of college basketball, starring at University of Illinois, where he averaged 15.0 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists. The point guard was named Third-Team All-Big Ten as well as to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team. The Lithuanian was previously with Spanish powers Barcelona, where he made his Spanish ACB debut in April 2023.

Jakucionis became the third youngest player to debut for Barcelona in the league. He helped Lithuania to the title at the FIBA U16 EuroBasket 2022 and played at the 2023 and 2024 FIBA U18 EuroBaskets.

#9 Collin Murray-Boyles - USA

Collin Murray-Boyles played two seasons at the University of South Carolina, being named to the Second-Team All-SEC in 2025 and was a member of the SEC All-Freshman Team in 2024.

Murray-Boyles hails from the state of South Carolina.

#8 Khaman Maluach - South Sudan

Khaman Maluach played a strong role in his only season at Duke University and was named to the ACC All-Freshman Team. Before that, the South Sudanese big man played three seasons in the Basketball Africa League for three different clubs. He led the BAL in rebounding in 2024 with City Oilers. Maluach was also the MVP of the 2023 Basketball Without Borders Africa camp and earned the Defensive MVP award at the 2024 BWB Global camp.

Maluach played at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023, becoming the third-youngest player to appear in a World Cup game. South Sudan ended up qualifying for the Paris 2024 Men's Olympic Basketball Tournament and Maluach played there as well.

#7 Kon Knueppel - USA

Kon Knueppel completed his only season in collegiate basketball with Duke University, helping the team reach the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament.

The wing was named to the Second-Team All-ACC and the ACC All-Freshman Team.

#6 Jeremiah Fears - USA

Jeremiah Fears entered the draft after just one season of college basketball, starring at University of Oklahoma as he averaged 17.1 points and 4.1 assists. The guard was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team.

Fears is the younger brother of Jeremy Fears, who won the FIBA U16 AmeriCup 2021 and FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup 2022. Jeremiah Fears helped USA win the title at the FIBA U18 AmeriCup 2024.

#5 Tre Johnson - USA

Tre Johnson played just one season of college basketball, dominating for University of Texas as he averaged 19.9 points per game. The shooting guard was named the SEC Freshman of the Year and to the Second-Team All-SEC.

Johnson participated in the 2024 Nike Hoop Summit. He also played at the FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup 2024 as a player two years younger.

#4 VJ Edgecombe - Bahamas

VJ Edgecombe enters the draft after just one season in college basketball as one of the leaders for Baylor University. The wing was named to the Second-Team All-Big 12 as well as the Big 12 Freshman of the Year. Edgecombe represented Bahamas at the 2024 Nike Hoop Summit.

He played for his country in one event, competing in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament Spain as an 18-year-old and averaging 16.5 points and 3.8 assists.

#3 Ace Bailey - USA

Ace Bailey played just one season in college basketball with Rutgers University and he averaged 17.6 points per game.

The wing was named to the Third-Team All-Big Ten and Big Ten-All Freshman Team. Bailey also played at the 2024 Nike Hoop Summit.

#2 Dylan Harper - USA

Dylan Harper entered the draft after just one season in college basketball as he was a leader for Rutgers University. The guard was named to the Third-Team All-Big Ten and Big Ten All-Freshman Team. Harper, the son of five-time NBA champion Ron Harper and brother of NBA players Ron Harper Jr., participated in the 2024 Nike Hoop Summit.
