Everton set sights on move for EFL striker

Millwall striker Mihailo Ivanovic has emerged on the radar of Everton, according to Goodison News.

Millwall could face a battle to keep hold of the attacker this summer. They are preparing for another year in the Championship.

Ivanovic, 20, has been an important player for the Lions since his move last year. He scored 13 goals in all competitions this past season.

In this latest update regarding his situation at The Den, Goodison News claim is wanted by Everton in the Premier League. The Toffees are gearing up to move into their new stadium.

After landing him last August, Millwall’s Director of Football Steve Gallen told their website: “Mihailo is a big signing for the football club. He is soon to be a Serbian international and is 19-years-old, so he fits the bill of the players we have tried to sign in this transfer window.

“He is young, powerful, athletic and quick; more of a number nine in running the channels and good with his back to goal. I think we all understand we have to be patient with him – I’m sure the fans will be, I know we will be. We’re really pleased to get this deal over the line.”

Millwall’s decision to sign Ivanovic has turned out to be a masterstroke. He has adapted well to life in England and has a bright future ahead of him.

If the Lions were to sell him, they are likely to pick up a hefty profit on him. They will do their best to retain his services for as long as possible though.

Prior to his transfer, he rose up through the academy at Vojvodina. He was a regular for them at various different youth levels.

Ivanovic went on to make 48 appearances altogether and found the net on 10 occasions. The Serbia international also had a loan spell away at Sampdoria.

What now for Mihailo Ivanovic at Millwall?

Millwall won’t want to lose him over the next couple of months. If they did, it would be hard to find a replacement who could make the same impact.

Time will tell whether Everton will lodge an official approach. They could see him as someone to boost their forward options under David Moyes. He was picked as their replacement for Sean Dyche earlier this year.

The Lions missed out on the play-offs last term. Alex Neil has done an impressive job since taking over though and will be aiming for another push for the top six. He has been rewarded with a new contract recently.
