Man Utd transfer news: Bryan Mbeumo holds talks over£60m move as star wants to stay put

Manchester United are looking to get a number of deals over the line this summer with Ruben Amorim keen to have a new-look squad in place for his first pre-season at the club

The summer transfer window is a crucial period for Manchester United's Ruben Amorim. The Portuguese manager is keen to revamp his squad ahead of his inaugural pre-season at the helm.

However, after a disappointing 15th place finish in the Premier League last season, only Matheus Cunha has been brought on board so far. United snapped up the striker in a hefty £62.5million deal from Wolves.

But more firepower is needed as the Red Devils aim to bolster their attacking ranks. Speculation over the futures of Bryan Mbeumo and Viktor Gyokeres continues, but United seem to be struggling to seal their next signing.

And there are departures to sort out as well. Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Jadon Sancho don't seem to fit into Amorim's plans, but the club hasn't yet agreed on a transfer fee for any of them.

Daily Star Sport brings you the latest transfer gossip and news from Old Trafford, reports the Mirror.

Manchester United have tabled a fresh bid exceeding £60m for Bryan Mbeumo amidst interest from Tottenham, and he's already had a chinwag with a potential new team-mate about the move.

Mbeumo has shown a willingness to join United, but Spurs, now managed by his former boss Thomas Frank, have since put in an offer for him.

Mbeumo was a standout player for Brentford under Frank last season, netting 20 goals in the Premier League and catching the eye of several top-flight clubs. While Frank's new role could give Spurs an edge in their pursuit of Mbeumo, United have a secret weapon up their sleeve.

United's goalie Andre Onana has reportedly been chatting with Mbeumo about a potential move to Old Trafford. The pair, who share international duties, are rumoured to have discussed the possibility of teaming up under Ruben Amorim.

Alejandro Garnacho is said to be keen on a switch to Chelsea this summer, sparking talk of a possible swap deal involving Christopher Nkunku.

United gaffer Amorim has given Garnacho the green light to seek pastures new in the upcoming transfer window.

Napoli had a bid knocked back in January, and Chelsea were among those showing interest during the winter window. The Blues are still thought to be keen, with rumours swirling of a swap deal involving Garnacho and Nkunku.

No direct negotiations have taken place yet, but according to the Athletic, Garnacho would be open to a move to Stamford Bridge as he's eager to remain in the Premier League.
