Barcelona have confirmed they will return to play at the Camp Nou for the first time since renovation work started in time for the Joan Gamper Trophy on August 10.
The Catalans moved out of their famous home over two years ago and have been playing at Montjuic since but will be back for the traditional curtain-raiser.
The ground will only be partially reopened, as the renovation work is not yet completed, but it’s still a giant step in the right direction.
Barcelona are yet to confirm full details, or their opponents, but it’s been rumoured that [Cesc Fabregas will bring his Como](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2025/5/30/24439872/barcelona-expected-to-face-cesc-fabregas-como-in-joan-gamper-trophy-at-camp-nou) team to the game for the match.
Fabregas currently has former Barca players Sergi Roberto and Alex Valle in his squad, meaning there will be plenty of familiar faces coming back to the Camp Nou for the match.
Barcelona are then hoping to use the Camp Nou for the 2025-26 campaign. The Catalans have requested to play their first three games of the season away from home to give them time to get the stadium ready.
