Valuation of €35m for each – Striker and winger swap pushed for Manchester United

Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho has attracted interest from Serie A clubs Juventus and Napoli over the past few days.

There have been indications that the Naples club were the first to move for the wide playmaker, but they[‘ve edge away and Juve are making up ground.

Gianluca di Marzio claimed late last night that the Old Lady will have a video call with Manchester United regarding a move for Sancho.

In the meantime, TuttoJuve report other developments around Sancho and believe negotiations have already started between the Red Devils and the Bianconeri.

Within those discussions, Manchester United are said to have themselves proposed the idea of swapping Sancho with Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic.

The belief is that a swap deal would ‘benefit both’ parties. This is because both Vlahovic and Sancho would be valued at €35m despite having only a year left on their contracts.

Juve and Manchester United would struggle to earn €35m from separate deals for the players and swapping them for that fee would present a capital profit for the clubs.

This all feels slightly reminiscent of Juventus’ Plusvalenza scandal, when false values were put on players in order to help accountancy needs. That saw serious action against the club and individuals involved, and is why Fabio Paratici is still banned and Pavel Nedved is taking up a role with the Czech national side.
