Tyrell Malacia problem emerges for Ruben Amorim

Manchester United continue to face challenges in the transfer market as Ruben Amorim looks to reshape the squad ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The Red Devils are prioritising outgoings before further incomings, with fringe players and returning loanees top of the list for potential sales.

Several players have already been earmarked for departure, but shifting them has proved difficult due to high wages, injury concerns, or underwhelming form.

While names like Jadon Sancho and Antony have attracted interest, others appear to be stuck in limbo with little traction around permanent exits.

And now, Manchester United are facing another dead end with a player who surprisingly just ended the season with silverware.

Tyrell Malacia, who spent the second half of the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Eredivisie champions PSV Eindhoven, has yet to attract any firm interest ahead of his expected Old Trafford departure, as per The Athletic.

Despite lifting the Dutch title and regaining fitness after a lengthy injury layoff, the left-back has not convinced potential suitors to make a move, either in the Netherlands or abroad.

United had hoped Malacia’s successful stint at PSV would help drum up serious offers this summer, but the club are still waiting for a single formal approach.

Tyrell Malacia, who joined United from Feyenoord in 2022, has struggled to cement a regular starting place at left-back, often playing second fiddle to Luke Shaw and later falling behind in the pecking order due to injury setbacks.

Although he featured more prominently under Erik ten Hag in his first season, recurring fitness problems kept him sidelined for most of the following campaign.

The Dutch international still has time on his contract, but United would prefer to cash in now, rather than keep a player who doesn’t appear to fit into Amorim’s tactical plans.

The club may have to consider a reduced fee or another loan option if no buyers step forward soon, but internally, the preference remains a permanent deal.

With Shaw, Patrick Dorgu, Harry Amass and Diogo Dalot all currently ahead in the full-back hierarchy, Malacia’s prospects at Old Trafford remain bleak unless the situation changes quickly.
