Forest to compete in two competitions once more
Reds to defend Premier League International Cup crown
B Team set for second season in the National League Cup
Nottingham Forest’s B Team will once again compete in the National League Cup and Premier League International Cup during the 2025/26 season.
Warren Joyce’s young Reds will defend their International Cup crown having won the competition last season following a 5-4 penalty shoot-out victory over Lyon at the City Ground.
Forest will compete alongside 15 other Premier League sides against some of Europe’s most prestigious academies on UK soil, enabling players to compete against some of the best young talent from the continent in a high-profile and competitive environment.
Warren Joyce’s side faced off against the likes of AS Monaco, Ajax and Dinamo Zagreb before overcoming Athletic Bilbao and Lyon at the world-famous City Ground in the competition’s semi-finals and final respectively, becoming the third English club to win the competition since its inception in 2014.
The National League Cup was established last season, providing opportunities for young players from Premier League and EFL clubs to test themselves against senior opposition from the National League.
Forest travelled to Dagenham & Redbridge, Braintree Town and Ebbsfleet United in last season’s competition, providing our youngsters with valuable experience in senior football stadia.
As was the case last season, all matches in the National League Cup will be played away from home.
