Man United&LFC face fresh competition for 20 G/A star

Man United and Liverpool are showing interest in versatile Israel international. He ended the last season with 20 goal contributions for the Austrian club. Now, both Red Devils and Reds are facing fresh competition from another Premier League club.

Man United need more attacking depth this summer. They have been overly dependent on Bruno Fernandes. Hence, Amorim has asked for more attackers and the board is backing him. They have already signed Cunha whereas Mbeumo is likely to join very soon.

On the other hand, Liverpool have a very good attacking unit. In addition, they have now signed Florian Wirtz for £104 million. But, Arne Slot is still willing to add some more depth. As of now, both United and Liverpool have one common target. He plays in Austrian Bundesliga.

The star in question here is Oscar Gloukh of Salzburg. He is only 21 year old but a regular started for both club and country. Gloukh has so far played 21 games for Israel national team. In those, he has scored 3 goals and picked 2 assists.

Gloukh can play in variety of positions. He mainly plays as left winger and attacking midfielder. But, he can also operate as central midfielder and striker when needed. In the 2024/25 season, he played 42 games for Salzburg where he scored 12 goals and picked 8 assists.

According to Le Nouvel Echo, Leeds United have joined the race for Gloukh. They are promoted to Premier League and are hoping to improve their squad in order to stay in top flight English league. Gloukh can add more creativity and goals to their squad which is required currently.

Gloukh is valued at £21 million. Hence, it will be interesting to see if Leeds are able to spend that amount. In contrast, both United and Liverpool can afford him easily. But, the decision will also depend on which club Gloukh thinks is a good fit for him.
