Casemiro has sent a message on social media amid ongoing transfer speculation linking him with a move away from Manchester United.

According to Saudi outlet Sport Jazirah, Al-Nassr are close to signing United's Brazilian midfielder. The report claims that negotiations are at an 'advanced stage' as the 33-year-old closes in on a move to the Saudi Pro League this summer.

United forked out £70million to sign Casemiro from Real Madrid in August 2022. The Reds reportedly need to recoup £15m to avoid registering a loss on the five-time Champions League winner, as they look to balance the Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

The Brazilian midfielder made 42 appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals and assisting three for his United teammates. He struggled to nail down a place in Ruben Amorim's starting XI after the Portuguese head coach's arrival from Sporting last season.

However, things would improve and he'd become a regular in the United starting XI during their Europa League run to the final. Although his future at Old Trafford is uncertain, the experienced midfielder is clearly preparing for next season after sharing the following image and message on his Instagram story.

"Obrigado [Thanks] @avanutri_ava @avacr7. Recovery," he said, followed by a battery emoji.

Casemiro has one year left on his contract and has outlined his wish to stay at United for a fourth year. However, The Manchester Evening News understands that United have sought potential bidders for the Brazilian over the past 12 months

Despite falling well out of favour with Reds boss Ruben Amorim, around February, he began to feature more regularly in the Premier League and in Europe. The 33-year-old was a pivotal cog in the side that reached the Europa League final, and found top-flight matches more frequent to come by at the season's end.

United want to bolster their midfield, an area where they are short of specialists. Manuel Ugarte joined from Paris Saint-Germain last summer but it is unclear what long-term plans Amorim has for Kobbie Mainoo and Toby Collyer who have missed over 20 matches through injury in 2024/25. Christian Eriksen has been released.
