Champions League club is closely ‘monitoring’ situation around Man Utd target, Red Devils’ transfer stance remains clear

Manchester United and Ruben Amorim now face even more competition over one experienced Premier League player in the summer transfer window, according to stunning reports.

The summer transfer window opened earlier this month and Manchester United signed Matheus Cunha from Wolves after activating his £62.5m transfer fee.

This summer’s transfer window temporarily closed for a six-day period on 10th June due to the reformatted FIFA Club World Cup starting in North America.

The transfer window reopened on 16th June and United are expected to see more signings arrive at Old Trafford ahead of the new Premier League season.

Ruben Amorim is expected to overhaul the United first-team squad with a major clearout as well amid the looming start of the Red Devils’ pre-season tour in July.

United’s Premier League season will begin against Arsenal in August and the Red Devils have until 1st September to bring in any signings before the window closes.

Man Utd have been linked with Emiliano Martinez and the Aston Villa ace has attracted more transfer interest

Emiliano Martinez has attracted interest from Manchester United and the 32-year-old Argentine has been tipped to leave Villa Park in the summer transfer window.

The United-linked player is under contract with Aston Villa until 2029 and Emiliano Martinez has been a key player for Villa manager Unai Emery.

However, Villa are believed to be open to selling Martinez amid their financial problems and the Premier League club are reportedly holding out for a £40m fee.

The Saudi Pro League has been linked with Martinez, who is reportedly keen to stay in England and has viewed United as his preferred destination this summer.

Martinez has also attracted interest from Galatasaray and clubs are ‘monitoring his situation’ at Villa Park amid the Premier League side willing to sell the player.

According to The Daily Telegraph, Atletico Madrid are now believed to be interested in signing Martinez in the summer transfer window.

Why Atletico Madrid have turned to Emiliano Martinez amid the Man Utd and Saudi Arabia transfer interest in Aston Villa star

The Daily Telegraph reports that Atletico Madrid are ‘monitoring’ Emiliano Martinez’s situation this summer and the Aston Villa ace could replace Jan Oblak at the club.

Jan Oblak has been a key player for Atletico manager Diego Simeone, but the 32-year-old Slovenian’s long-term future remains uncertain at the La Liga club.

The newspaper added that United have been linked with Martinez, but the Red Devils are reportedly not pursuing an immediate deal to sign the shot-stopper.

It is believed that ‘a deal’ for Martinez is ‘not something’ that is ‘being looked at’ by United amid the Premier League club’s financial constraints this summer.
